Rising Seniors

Qualified high school students who wish to begin college work after their junior year in high school may apply for admission to Lindsey Wilson College. The following applications materials are required:

  1. a completed application for admission,
  2. transcript of high school work, and
  3. letters of recommendation from the high school counselor and a high school teacher in the field in which the student is enrolling.

GED Requirements

Persons who do not have a high school diploma indicating graduation from an accredited high school (or equivalent institution) or GED certificate may be admitted as special students. Only when the student has successfully completed the GED examination will credit earned as a special student be used to fulfill degree requirements. Persons who have completed home school programs and satisfied all other admissions requirements may be admitted as special students. Continued enrollment in classes is generally dependent upon satisfactory performance and GED completion prior to the end of the second semester of attendance.

Transfer Students

Lindsey Wilson College accepts students from two-year and four-year colleges accredited by a regional accrediting commission.

Candidates for admission as transfer students must submit the following:

  1. a completed application for admission,
  2. official transcript from all colleges and universities attended.

Students transferring to Lindsey Wilson College with a grade point average below 2.0 on a 4.0 scale may be accepted only on academic probation following a review by the Admissions Committee, which may request an interview with the applicant. Any transfer candidate on disciplinary suspension by another college is required to have a personal interview with the Admissions Committee.

Lindsey Wilson College accepts transfer credits earned at other regionally accredited institutions. The cumulative GPA of students transferring to LWC will include hours attempted and quality points earned from all previously attended institutions. Courses completed as lower division credits will transfer to Lindsey Wilson College as lower division credit only. A maximum of 64 credit hours may be accepted from regionally accredited junior or community colleges. Additional credit hours will be accepted only when appropriate and when permission is given by the Division Chair or Registrar.

Readmissions

Students who have previously attended Lindsey Wilson College and desire to re-enter must complete an application update and submit transcripts from colleges and universities attended since leaving Lindsey Wilson. If the student has previously been suspended or dismissed from Lindsey Wilson College, the Admissions Committee will review the student's records and make the admissions decision. The student may be asked to meet with the Committee before the decision is made.

Visiting Students

A student enrolled at another college may apply for admission to Lindsey Wilson College as a visiting student. Prior to acceptance, a visiting student must submit an official statement of approval from the Academic Dean or Registrar of the institution in which he/she is currently enrolled.
